Artists > Sydell Lewis

As a former research chemist, avid ballroom dancer and lifetime experimental artist I bring elements of these disciplines to my imagery. I am influenced by cubism, the first abstract movement in history and 20th century abstract expressionism. I am a painter and printmaker interested in non-traditional media. I create paintings that can be viewed in different orientations and place them on a special device that rotates. My monotypes are created with a new technique using acrylic paint rather than ink. I am presently working on digitally painted pigment prints. I am a member of the California Society of Printmakers and represented by Gallery House in Palo Alto, CA and Robert Allen Fine Arts in Sausalito, CA.
